Benjamin enlisted as a Private on 24 Nov 1864 in Company F, 48th Infantry Regiment Illinoise, mustered out 15 Aug 1865 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was with Sherman in his march to the sea. BENJAMIN BRADFORD FORSYTHE (1838-1894) (William, Joseph, Robert, James) Benjamin Bradford Forsythe was born 3 February 1838 in Clark County, Illinois the son of William and Esther Hetty (Ashmore) Forsythe. He served in Company F 48th Infantry U.S.A. in the Civil War. He participated as a soldier in General Sherman's famous "March to the Sea." He married Martha Anderson, 22 July 1860, in Clark County, Illinois. She was born in Ohio, 13 October 1841 and passed away 18 March 1915. He passed away 30 December 1894.
